'Where do I begin, if you are interested in the spiritual aspects of each stone rather than the physical, emotional or psychological help theses stones can provide then this is the book for you.
Although to be fair Robert Simmons provides you with information that some other authors don't. Such as the structure, mineral habit and where they can be found. The book tells you which chakras are associated with each mineral, its key words and to which element it belongs. It takes you a while to go through the information to find what you need. I ended up starting with Naisha Ahsian's contribution and going from there. Robert appears (and this is just my opinion) to have included only those stones in which he has an interest. So it isn't anywhere complete; for example, there is a general overview of Agate and then he goes on to describe some of the varieties in the family. On the other hand he goes into esoteric detail about Azeztulite as he contributed to the discovery of the spiritual healing properties of these stones, the fact that you can't buy most of them seems to be irrelevant to the author. On the whole after weeding out the things that I needed from this book, I would recommend this book for the more unusual stones that have been included and for healers to add to their collection. I wouldn't recommend this book for beginners.

I have just found a crystal website based in Appalachian Valley of Asheville, North Carolina. I was drawn to this site regardless of the dark background because of the amazing variety of quartz crystals that they have for sale; particularly the Lodolite Quartz/Garden Quartz as good quality specimens of these stones can be very difficult to find.
Rusty and Nicole have sourced a good range of fossils for you to purchase such as excellent quality Dinosaur Bone Spheres and Septarian Worry Stones. This site is well worth a visit and when you can't resist buying one of their items, they do deliver internationally. My chosen stone is the Elephant Skin Jasper/Mariam Jasper Palm stone, I haven't found one of that quality anywhere else. I recommend that you drop in and have a look around to be amazed by the quality of their finds and the joy that they obviously have for all crystals and their metaphysical abilities. Well my life went to hell in a handbasket when one of the apps that I use to build my site pulled out of Weebly.
Ok! you think not a big deal. Well I read the message and thought that the app wasn't useful to me even though I had added it to my app list, so what did I do without checking, YES you have it, I pushed delete. Then my brain knocked and said you should check just to make sure, a bit late don't you think. I opened my site and went to the bigger pages, you know Quartz, Jasper, Agate those pages, and what did I find, a great big empty. Now the genius that I am has the information in other areas of my computer but NOW I have to input the information again, and as is usual for me, I have to keep resisting the desire to update as I go. As a side note and on the humours side the friends that I am staying with while I sell my house could hear me yelling from outside. Both came rushing in asking if I was ok, you see they thought I had hurt myself. They were a little less sympathetic when I told them what had happened. So if the website looks a little sparse right now, don't worry I am burning the midnight oil, typing away madly, rebuilding. |
